A nice, clean single speed with a funky camo splatter paint finish…what more is there to say? Get on and ride, darnit.
When you pull to the start line, why not get noticed? Jeff requested a bike that was a bit more colorful than his previous rides, so I pulled out all the stops. A custom steel blend of tubing, no non-sense geometry, and a painted to match White Brothers fork all adds up to a fast, stable race sled that took Jeff to the top of the regions results.
This bike was made for a customer that wanted a pretty straight forward steel road bike. We used oversized Columbus tubing plugged into Richard Sachs lugs with some modifications. The Component package is the tried and true Shimano Ultegra kit upgraded with a full compliment of Chris King componentry. We made a custom nickel plated stem to the customers dimensions to keep everything nice and clean.
A sweet little number in grunge green and cream, this Rohloff equipped steel bike features internal cable routing, custom EBB, modular dropouts, one piece bar and stem, and our own box crown fork. It’s as much fun to look at as it is to ride.
A super clean travel bike for a performance enthusiast…this custom steel sled features SS couplers, quick disconnect cable mounts, and a Rohloff hub for ease of travel. A beautifully rich red/orange candy fade finish compliments the frame and bar. This baby will see a lot of action abroad :)
It’s a 29′er, steel, and geared. This bike is going places. First off riding the gnarly trails of Vancouver Island, BC, next the sick trails of Australia.
A fun single speed that utilizes the Gates Belt drive products and an SS coupler on the chain stay to pass the belt. Designed around 650b wheels for quick agile movement and a bit more roll over than their smaller cousin, this build utilizes a White Brothers fork for suspension duties. The customer has since upgraded to a anodized blue Rohloff drivetrain, courtesy of Cycle Monkey. A fun build and a really enjoyable paint job to complete.
I love the benefits of a Rohloff drive train…clean, organized, efficient, and it requires the most minimal maintenance. This 29er offers a little bit of pizazz to go along with it as well. Built for travel, this bike is equipped with Paragon’s sliders for chain tension duties, S&S couplers for ease of packing, and custom machined plates that maintain clean lines and allow the cables to be freed quickly. Throw in the custom hand bent stays, custom unicrown fork, painted to match Luv Handle, specially cut and machined XTR crank, and a bright, fun paint job, and this bike is ready to take to the dirt wherever your plane lands.
This bike was built to be comfortable on all day adventures in the hills around the bay area. We used the new 2×10 Shimano XT components and a rigid unicrown fork. Paint by Spectrum.
Designed for a customer who can’t decide between skinny tires and knobbies for cruising the country roads and double track in his area, this geared bicycle allows for both. Built with a custom selection of steel tubing, a suspension corrected rigid front fork, and dressed in three layers of candy orange that give some visual depth, this 2×9 Sram equipped machine is sure to provide stable performance despite the surface he cruises on.
A full custom bicycle…styled after a 1940′s cruiser frame, this piece has one off period styled dropouts, a custom suspension corrected triple crown fork, Luv handles, Hotrods and a sweet classic red and white paint job to finish it off. Built as a 2×6 with a custom machined cassette fit on a King single speed wheelset, this build can quickly move from geared to single speed at a riders whim. A fun and challenging build, that made the process very enjoyable. This is why I love my job
A build for one of my sponsored racers, this build features a steel frame with custom radiused and ovalized top top tube, s-bend stays, and tight geometry to allow a neutral steering base for nimble moves between tight tree lined corners. Built with 100mm suspension and a clean 2×10 drivetrain, this machine is simple and meant to go fast. Throw in a titanium Disco stick seatpost and ti Luv Handles for comfort and light weight, King wheels on Crest rims, and this rig is ready to hit the race course. A subtle white with gold pearl finish keeps the build under the radar on the start line. As a sponsored build, I finished it up at a little past midnight, just 8 hours before the race, so the quality of the pics is a mix of moonlight and weariness
A straight up steel frame with swinger dropouts, custom titanium unicrown fork, titanium Luv Handle, painted to match Hot Rods, titanium Disco Stick seat post, and rolling on super sweet Phil/Arch wheels. Built to be stiff in the low end, but with compliant components to take the edge off of the rigid chassis. Finished up with a tribute color of Team Lavendar, a pale lavendar with a red pearl overcoat. One of my favorite builds, clean and efficient.
A steel and Hibiscus flowered frame built to handle all the dirt roads you can travel down. This Rohloff equipped bike is designed for belt or chain drive utilizing a pass through gate in the seatstay…no spreading or bending the frame members to allow a belt to pass. Decked out with dirt drops, leather tape, and custom Woody fenders, handmade Hot Rod cranks, custom unicrown fork, and custom high rise stem, she’s built to look as good as it rides. Let’s go explore!
A sweet retro styled sled for shreading the single track, this porceline green and cream beauty sports a custom ti unicrown fork, ti luv handle, and airbrushed little girlies for your viewing pleasure.
Let me introduce to you the Luv Handle…built of 4130 aircraft steel or 3/2.5 Haynes Titanium. The bar sports a gentle 4 degree rise and a 21.5 degree back sweep, meeting the natural anatomic position of your wrist and hands to allow for reduced stress on the supportive structures resulting in all day comfort and control. The design allows you to use your current stem and the grip section is long enough to mate with any combination of shifters and brake levers…just slide them on and hit the dirt.

Designed as a 26″ wheeled trail bike, versatility is the focus here; built with a custom EBB, modular dropouts and internal cable routing, this machine can accommodate a Rohloff drive, standard gears, or run simply as a single speed. Add a splash of color to the mix and you are set for wherever your heart leads.
This sweet machine is designed for the ultimate performace travel bike…SS couplers to break down quickly for transport, SRAM Red for flawless operation, and layers of candy colors over a black base that will explode with color as you crest the mountain top into the sun. Fast a fun, she’s a looker too
Designed for the tight cornering and narrow trees found in the woods of our eastern coast, this nimble 29er is clad in a green candy forest motif, allowing your sheer speed and power to impress those around you. The build is complimented with a custom titanium unicrown fork and titanium Luv Handles, both allowing enough vibration absorption to allow for smooth riding while providing the strength necessary to handle the power a single speeder needs to put down into the trail. A build as unique as the individual riding it.
HOW TO MAKE A BLACKBERRY SMOOTHIE
Take your Naked Light Adventure bicycle along a picturesque gravel road in late August in search of plump ripe blackberries. Collect the blackberries in your recycled yogurt container. Eat extras as required for energy. Stop by your local grocer. Grab some plain yogurt, milk, and honey (local is best). If you’ve forgotten to freeze some bananas ahead of time, you might also want to pick up some ice-cream. Return home at a vigorous pace to work up a good sweaty hunger, clicking through your crisp new drive-train as necessary. Come to a graceful and controlled, shudder-less stop with your new TRP mini-V brakes. Combine ingredients in blender until smoothie and bike are the same colour. Yummy goodness.
