We are excited to introduce our flat and flanged titanium and stainless steel sliding adjustable dropouts that accept all 142 mm x 12 mm rear hubs. The inserts are compatible with the Shimano XTR M988 142 mm x 12 mm skewer only (Shimano P/N ISMAX75A). The Shimano skewer nut is held captive by a stainless steel retainer and M4 screw. The retainer offers nine positions (40 degrees) for QR lever alignment and is asymmetric. It can be flipped over to offer nine more positions that are 20 degrees out of phase with the original positions. The right side inserts are available with a derailleur hanger for multi-speed applications or without a hanger for single speed applications. The left side insert is supplied with a 12 mm through hole. The caliper mount is post style for 160 mm rotor disc brake applications. All inserts are available bare or black anodized. Frames built with these dropouts to 142 spacing can also utilize any of our other inserts for 135 mm x 10 mm spacing.

Also compatible with the above Shimano 142 mm x 12 mm skewer are our new Wright style, 1 1/2″ diameter, round, rear dropouts in titanium and steel. The inside face of the dropout is relieved 20 mm wide x 3.5 mm deep to accept all 142 mm x 12 mm hubs, and the flange height is 1.100″. The Shimano skewer nut is held captive by a stainless steel retainer and M4 screw. The retainer offers nine positions (40 degrees) for QR lever alignment and is asymmetric. It can be flipped over to offer nine more positions that are 20 degrees out of phase with the original positions. The 12 mm skewer holes can be filed as much as .5 mm in any direction to correct for proper wheel alignment. The right side inserts are available with a derailleur hanger for multi-speed applications or without a hanger for single speed applications. Both inserts are available bare or black anodized.

Adjustable rocker dropouts that accept all 142 mm x 12 mm rear hubs will be available in March.

This special build was designed to provide modern performance with a vintage styling of the 40′s. The customer wanted the finish to look like it was just pulled from a barn after years of being stored away. A blend of custom steel tubing, swinger dropouts, and designed around a custom suspension corrected titanium unicrown fork and ti Luv handle, this cockpit provides a more upright position to allow for an open, unrestricted torso for ease of breathing and power when single speeding. A fun bike with a lot of character.

See how the finish came together here on the blog…

Fulcrum Wheels s.r.l. designs wheels and components for racing bikes and distributes them in over 30 countries worldwide. The company headquarters are in Arcugnano, in the Berici hills near Vicenza.
Fulcrum Wheels s.r.l. was established in July 2004, based on the idea of three aerospace engineers who are passionate about bicycles. The strong points of this young company include the use of unique patents, ongoing technological research, and the attractive and young-spirited design. In its first year of operation, Fulcrum Wheels s.r.l. earned revenues of 6 million euros, with exports accounting for 70%.
Fulcrum wheels were initially created for road racing, but in 2008 the Fulcrum family welcomed two important new members: the off-road wheels, which would soon reveal themselves to be worthy of the name, achieving excellent results, and the pedal cranks for racing bikes in carbon fibre, representing the first Fulcrum product for the high-end range of components.

Fulcrum Wheels s.r.l. uses only ultralight materials such as aluminium, carbon fibre, and polyaramide, while paying careful attention not to diminish the wheel’s strength.
Fulcrum has developed a number of systems that are unique in the world: 2:1 Two-to-oneT, for doubling the number of spokes in critical points, Dynamic BalanceT, for obtaining a constantly balanced rotation dynamic, MoMagT, which ensures a durable assembly and perfect spoke holding, and A.F.S. (Axial Fixing System) for complete compatibility with all the off-road disc braking systems.
Fulcrum has also entered the world of tubeless road wheels, proposing the innovative 2-Way Fit system: an exclusive rim profile that makes it possible to fit either a tubeless tire or a classic clincher on the same wheel.
Right from the start, Fulcrum road wheels earned the trust of great champions, and in the first four years they were first to cross the finish line for four consecutive wins at the world championship: with Tom Boonen in 2005 and with Paolo Bettini in 2006 and 2007, followed by the 2008 victory of Alessandro Ballan. But Fulcrum triumphs are not limited to road races. In 2006 and 2007 Julien Absalon was the world XC champion and in 2008 at the Beijing Olympics he took the gold medal!!

Founded by Daryl Funk in the 1980s, Funk Cycles has been on the cutting edge of design and framebuilding for more than 25 years. With an emphasis on research, development and precision, Funk specializes in the design and fabrication of high-end titanium bikes. Every bike is handcrafted in Colorado and designed to fit the needs of the individual rider.

Currently, Funk offers three primary models. The La Ruta is a project that has taken on several versions and is the ultimate pivot-less, full-suspension design. The Veloce is our classic hardtail, and the Sano is our sleek road bike. Funk is also introducing the La Ruta CTI for this year’s show. And the surprise may be our Ti Classic in a 650b platform.

With a strong team presence, the Funk community continues to grow. While most Team Funk riders are in the Colorado area, we also have a team based out of Wisconsin and Texas, with more members joining.

HOW TO MAKE A BLACKBERRY SMOOTHIE

Take your Naked Light Adventure bicycle along a picturesque gravel road in late August in search of plump ripe blackberries. Collect the blackberries in your recycled yogurt container. Eat extras as required for energy. Stop by your local grocer. Grab some plain yogurt, milk, and honey (local is best). If you’ve forgotten to freeze some bananas ahead of time, you might also want to pick up some ice-cream. Return home at a vigorous pace to work up a good sweaty hunger, clicking through your crisp new drive-train as necessary. Come to a graceful and controlled, shudder-less stop with your new TRP mini-V brakes. Combine ingredients in blender until smoothie and bike are the same colour. Yummy goodness.
