Nestled in France’s picturesque Loire Valley, Cyfac has been expertly crafting bicycle frames for more than 25 years. Drawing inspiration from the world-famous vineyards and epic cycling lanes of its terroir, our artisans infuse each frame with a time-honored attention-to-detail and passion for cycling. We are a different breed of frame builder, focusing on our customer’s unique needs and desires ahead of mass-production and one-size-fits-all products.
Cyfac’s founder, Francis Quillon, began as the frame builder to cycling’s greatest stars. As the real frame beneath a sponsor’s paint, Cyfac creations were chosen for their precision craftsmanship, quality, and fit. Technologically advanced and dependable, each frame was built to withstand the demands of hard grit European racing and training. Across the rugged pavé of northern France, the sinuous descents of the Italian coast, and the fierce crosswinds of the Spanish plain, Cyfac frames have been ridden to victories in the sport’s most prestigious events. The experience and team spirit of the racing peleton carries to our workshop floor.
Cyfac was the first to TIG-weld aluminum frames, making the first lightweight aluminum frames for Claudio Chiapucci and Marco Pantani among others. As the first European titanium builder, Cyfac offered a growing list of options, including the world's only full-custom alu superbike design (since outlawed by the UCI). Cyfac's avant-garde efforts culminated in the first full-custom, full-carbon lug-less frameset, the Tigre. The revolutionary Cyfac carbon-stratification process brought old-world hand-craftsmanship together with 21st century technologies. Using aerospace grade carbon and resins that most manufacturers avoid due to costs, Cyfac's focus is on quality in both the manufacturing and finish processes. Since 2007 we have used an environmentally-friendly paint process which replaces harsh chemical solvents with water. Better for our painters, better for the environment, and it even provides a more lustrous, high-quality finish to the final product! Across our range, in the way we conduct our business, and in the artisans we support, we put the finish line before the bottom line to ensure your fit, enjoyment, and lasting performance of each Cyfac frame.
Allez-y! Bon courage!
Cyfac-sponsored riders John Saccomandi and Olivier Donval became World Paralympic Champions last October. Racing for the French National Team, the pair stormed to an impressive victory against a packed field. Proper fit, bike dynamics, and synchronous movement on a tandem at this level are of utmost importance. John and Olivier’s custom CYFAC DUO CARBONE tandem is painstakingly crafted just for them. It is stiff, resilient, and perfectly dialed into their geometry and dynamic needs, culminating in a true champion’s rig.
The DUO CARBONE is available in a variety of permutations: 1.125 x 1.5 front end, Di2 integration, disc brakes, Gates carbon drive, and more. This particular version is a road racing machine, with a beautiful hand-painted WORLD CHAMPION scheme to commemorate John and Olivier’s fantastic victory. Bravo!

2012 marks Cyfac’s 30th year in business.

Attached is a small snapshot of some of our milestones along this 30 year ride.
CYFAC proudly announces their return to the pro cycling peloton with the new Continental Pro Team, VERANDA RIDEAU-U. Based in the cycling-crazed Sarthe and Vendée regions of France, VERANDA RIDEAU-U builds on the country’s most successful amateur program that carried the French National Championships the past two years. The 2012 team enters the pro arena as a European Continental Team with a mix of veteran pros returning to the top level and neo-pros taking their first shot at the sport’s highest level. Laurent Fignon fans will know the “U” made famous with the Systeme-U and Super-U squads headed by Fignon in the 1980′s.
“Our racers are very proud to race on Cyfac and are conscious of the exceptional quality level of the bikes they’ll be using.”, says Johnny Neveu, VERANDA RIDEAU-U team manager.
VERANDA RIDEAU-U riders will race on Cyfac’s custom ABSOLU V2 and GOTHICA framesets for road events and the custom GOTHICA CLM time-trial framesets for races against the clock.
“We have a history of building frames for riders like Laurent Fignon, Frank Vandenbroucke, Claudio Chiappucci and many others. To have our own frames, with our name, and the quality and passion of our artisans and technical staff on display is truly special.”, says Cyfac’s co-owner and director, Aymeric Le Brun.
As recently as 2003, some one-third of the Division One professional peloton raced on frames that were produced by Cyfac but branded under sponsors’ livery. 2012 marks the return of Cyfac-branded bikes for the first time since the Jean Delatour team raced the Tour de France in 2001 on the brand.
“Our argument for craftsmanship, customization, and ride quality will have an exciting arena in which to showcase our products and CPS fitting services.”, says Eric Sakalowsky, co-owner and director of sales and marketing for Cyfac. “All of the team riders have been custom-fit with our new CPS fitting system and we are now producing their frames in time for the pre-season training.”, he continues.
Full details on the team roster and staff will follow.
Cyfac International proudly announces the launch of its new custom color site, www.cyfac-custom.com. This new portal showcases the amazing variety of paint options available from the illustrious French frame builder. Customers can choose from 7 Cyfac paint design templates and arrange more than 25 color tints to create truly unique paint schemes. There are frame options for both standard and ISP (integrated seat post) styles and custom color shades are also available.
Full in-house paint service has been a point of pride for the French manufacturer since Cyfac began nearly 30 years ago. With the new Cyfac-Custom.com site, the commitment to realizing the best quality frame build and a finish to match steps up to a new level. Once a color choice is made, the technicians and artisans at Cyfac’s Loire Valley home will then paint their customer’s dream frame, adding rider name/initials/personal logos and even the builders’ signatures if desired.
With more than 2 Million color combinations, Cyfac provides the cycling world’s most varied and advanced color selection tool and has the in-house skill to realize rolling works of art.
“We consider the frame finish as important as the build beneath it. We use real paint, stencils instead of decals, and focus on realizing each client’s unique desires.” says Eric Sakalowsky, Cyfac’s co-owner and Sales/Marketing/Export director.
“Cyfac is all about the individual rider-client”, he continues. “We build each frame one-at-a time and the paint process is designed to realize each customer’s own aesthetic tastes. If someone was a discrete stealth racing machine or the flashiest touring bike ever made, we can deliver.”
The site will allows for an intuitive customer-led design process and is in French and English. It can be accessed directly from Cyfac’s main site – www.cyfac.fr – or at www.cyfac-custom.com
