Overall – Finish
Vendetta Cycles, LLC
This Vendetta Cycles track bike features the legendary Columbus Max tubing known for its stiffness and — let’s be honest here — ugly lugs. To fix this inherent problem we’ve hand carved and shaped the lugs to create a balanced aesthetic. This dedicated track bike uses short fork blades and chain stays for extra stiffness, while the seatstays are attached at the center of the seat lug to reduce bending forces in the seat and top tubes. Steep angles and a short fork rake create a balanced geometry for quick handling with stability on the inclines of any velodrome. Another custom feature is the fillet-brazed integrated bar/stem combination to add a little attitude – essential in a sprint for the line. Working with painter, Harry Phinney, and pinstriping artist, Jim Carmickle, the paint work takes inspiration from both American Hot Rods and Italian Sports Cars. Phinney used both House of Kolor limetime green and limegold to create the perfect base color. The paint work culminated with Carmickle’s freehand pinstriping – putting the finishing touch on an artistic and inventive paint collaboration. The overall mixture of metal design and paint finish creates a one-of-a-kind bicycle made to both go fast and look great.
