NAHBS News: Road – Demon:

Riding Discipline – Road

Demon Frameworks

This is my signature road frame. I wanted my signature frames to have a powerful presence, bold yet elegant. This road frame features the Manhattan head lug design, inspired by the architecture and skyline of New York City, in particular the Chrysler building. The lug is hand cut in stainless steel and silver brazed to oversized Reynolds 853 tubing. The rest of the frame is fillet brazed to give a clean overall look. The dropouts and seatstay bridge are machined in house, also in stainless steel, to give the frame more visual balance. The finish on the frame is antique copper plate. This is achieved my copper plating the frame and using patinization fluid to give the unique aged look. The frame is then clear coated with hard wearing lacquer to fix the colour of the copper and protect the stainless steel from finger marks and scratches.
